MindOntology:Category:Philosophical Ontologies Relevant to Cognition
This page is a bit of a placeholder. It is intended to be the head of a large subontology describing various areas of science and philosophy that are relevant to cognition.
Of course, there is no need to simply replicate the existing literature on these topics within the Mind Ontology. The intended use of this subontology is to present information on these areas of science and philosophy specifically as related to Cognition and AGI. For example, this may be a useful place to gather together "reading lists" of relevant references in various scientific domains.
A highly non-exhaustive list, intended as a "starter" only, is as follows:
Complex Systems Theory
- Dynamical Systems Theory
- Computational Mechanics
- Pattern theory, see the Appendix of The Hidden Pattern by Ben Goertzel
- Component System theory
- Self Generating System theory
- Cybernetics, see http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/CYBERN.html
